The Mexican Cultural Center is proud to announce Identidad, a powerful solo exhibition by Denver-based artist Arturo García, on view at Anythink Brighton from May 14 to August 13, 2025 and it is free to the public.
Identidad explores the complexities of Latino identity, building a bridge between contemporary oil painting traditions and the ever-evolving concept of Latino Identity. Denver-based artist Arturo Garcia explores his mestizo identity and heritage through memory, Latin American symbolism, and cultural idiosyncrasy, recognizing that identity is layered, interdimensional, and deeply personal. A popular character, spirituality, sense of belonging, reflection, sensation, history, and heritage all contribute to the Latino experience, and Garcia channels these dimensions into bold, expressive paintings.
A special artist talk and Q&A with Arturo García will be held on June 30 at 5:00 pm at Anythink Brighton.

Identidad explora la riqueza de la identidad latina, planteando un diálogo entre las tradiciones contemporáneas de la pintura al óleo y el concepto en constante evolución de lo que significa ser latino. Un artista que reside en Denver, Arturo Garcia, explora su identidad y herencia mestiza a través de la memoria, el simbolismo latinoamericano y la idiosincrasia cultural, reconociendo que la identidad está entretejida, es interdimensional y profundamente personal. Un personaje popular, la espiritualidad, el sentido de pertenencia, la reflexión, las sensaciones, la historia, y la herencia conforman la experiencia latina—y Garcia canaliza estas dimensiones en pinturas expresivas y contundentes.
